Research Interests and Activities:
Myron J. Mitchell has worked at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest since 1982. His work focuses on biogeochemical cycles with an emphasis on forest ecosystems and associated surface waters. All of the projects are collaborative efforts including scientists at the HBEF and other institutions. Work at the HBEF has focused on sulfur dynamics and has included analyses with both stable and radioactive isotopes. Related field research is also being conducted at the Huntington Forest in the Adirondack Mountains of New York and other watersheds in the eastern United States. He is doing regional comparisons which most recently have focused on forested watersheds in the eastern United States, Canada and Central Europe
